Reminder...weed and feeds suck!

Time for my annual reminder that you should never, ever buy "weed and feeds".
When you walk down the "lawn care" aisle of the big box stores you will see weed and feed after weed and feed after weed and feed...and tucked away in some corner you will find some pre-emergent.
Don't get distracted! Keep walking past all of those weed and feeds until you find that pre-emergent!

Yes, some weed and feeds have a pre-emergents mixed in. But you are also paying for a fertilizer that will do your lawn absolutely NO good right now. You are also paying for a post emergent that will be broadcast over your entire lawn (even areas that have no weeds), and that post emergent just won't work very well!

You need to buy your pre-emergent, liquid or granular, and broadcast it over your entire lawn. Then get yourself a good LIQUID post emergent, and spot spray your weeds. That is going to give you the best results!
