How to trim your vitex tree...

Vitex trees need to be trimmed at least once per year. Here is what you need to know...

We have talked a lot about crape myrtles, but what do you need to do to maintain vitex trees?

It’s actually pretty simple, and very similar to crape myrtles. Be sure to watch our videos on crape myrtle trimming, and apply those concepts to your vitex trimming.

Vitex trees bloom off of new growth, so they need to be trimmed in order to promote new blooms every year. You can be pretty aggressive when trimming since they grow quite wide and may need to be trimmed away from your house or sidewalks. Like crape myrtles, they are also extremely forgiving, so don’t worry about mistakes. They will always grow back, and you can make adjustments the next time you trim them.

Now is the time to trim your vitex trees, so get it done!

Vitex trees need to be trimmed BEFORE they come out of dormancy...which is only weeks away.

We can help you with this...simply call us or fill out our estimate form and we will add you to our schedule ASAP!
