How do deal with rescugrass.

What are all the tall, grassy weeds popping up everywhere??

First of all, its not crabgrass. Crabgrass won't show up until summer.

What we're seeing is called Rescuegrass. Rescuegrass is one of those winter weeds that is prevented with the fall pre-emergent application. If you missed the fall pre-emergent, you're likely dealing with some rescuegrass.

So how do you deal with it if you have it?
Let me save you some trouble...don't go buying anything to treat it with. The products on the market either don't work all that well, or are VERY expensive.

Instead of treating it, just crank up your lawn mower and mow it down. Rescuegrass will grow weaker and weaker as the temperatures warm up. Keeping it mowed down will speed up that process and be just as effective (or more effective) than any selective post emergent.
