Disrupting mosquito reproductive cycles.

Anytime you see a lawn or pest service fogging for mosquitos, they are actually applying two different products that accomplish two different things.

The first product targets and kills adult mosquitos. That is what everyone assumes the application is doing, and rightfully so.

The second product, however, is a little more interesting. This product is an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) that disrupts the reproductive cycles of mosquitos. When larvae or young mosquitos come into contact with it, their development is disrupted so that they are unable to reproduce.  

The IGR coupled with the mosquito killer is what gives you longevity in population reduction. You have immediate reduction by killing adult mosquitos, and lasting reduction when remaining larvae and young mosquitos are unable to reproduce.
