Get out there and check your lawn for dallisgrass, it's the perfect time to get after it with some Roundup!
We've had enough cold weather to push our Bermuda turf into full dormancy, which means it's safe to apply Roundup without damaging your turf. We've had plenty of freezing nights over the past month to get Bermuda completely dormant, so you don't have to worry about the Roundup hurting it.
We're still seeing a lot of green dallisgrass out there, so this is prime time to get out and smoke it once and for all. If you've had dallisgrass in your yard in the past, or noticed it this past year, go take a look. It's likely still green and still alive, which makes it an easy target right now.
Be careful if you have St. Augustine grass. Not all St. Augustine is fully dormant right now, especially if your lawn had a lot of shade or leaf cover over the fall and winter. That extra insulation can delay dormancy, so check before you spray. If it's still green, hold off. But if your Bermuda or St. Augustine is confirmed dormant, get out there and hit that dallisgrass while you have the chance.
