Grub Control vs. Grub Prevention...what is the difference?

Buying a grub prevention product? You might want to check the label before you purchase...

There are a lot of different "grub killer" products out there...if you are after a preventative, don't just grab the first thing you see. There are grub preventatives and grub control products, and they are very different.

When looking for a grub preventative, always check the label for the active ingredient “imidacloprid”. These are the products that target the eggs as they are laid, and the grub larvae in the earliest stage of their life cycle.

Many of the “grub killer” products on the market are what we call a contact killer, or a grub control. These products target adult, active grubs in your lawn.

Knowing the difference is crucial, always check the label!
