When is the best time to start a lawn care program?
Maybe you just moved into a new house, or built a house with a new lawn, or maybe you just aren’t happy with your current results and want to make a change etc. Whatever the case may be, at some point you have to pull the trigger and start giving your lawn the attention it needs.
Most people wait until spring to do this, simply because that is when lawn care is most relevant and top of mind. Weeds are popping up everywhere, grass is coming out of dormancy…that is the time when everyone is thinking about their lawn.
However, if you can force yourself to think about it before the issues arise…fall is by far the best time to get started.
Not that any other time is bad, but what you do right now is what lays the foundation for your lawn in the coming year. What you do right now will either start you off on the right foot or the wrong foot come spring.
Remember, the fall pre-emergent takes care of the fall and winter weeds, but it also prevents all of those early spring weeds as well. If you miss this application, you’ll constantly be playing catch up come spring time…battling weeds over and over again.
