Everybody knows that mosquitos are most active at dawn and dusk. That is when most people are eaten up. During the day they seem to disappear...most of the time.
There are almost 200 different species of mosquitos in the US, and the vast majority of them are active at dawn and dusk. However, there are a hand full that are active, and very aggressive, throughout the day.
The most common one that we see is the Asian Tiger Mosquito. The Asian Tiger Mosquito has a very unique look, being completely black with white stripes across its legs and body.
If you're being eaten up even in the middle of the day, this is likely the culprit.
Many people tend to schedule their outdoor activities around the "peak" mosquito times...but don't let your guard down, there is a mosquito for all hours of the day!
