Now is the time to aerate!
As you have heard me and plenty of others say, aerations are strictly a spring and fall service.
There a few reasons as to why there is somewhat of a narrow timeframe for aerating, but one that many don't consider is temperatures.
With a core aeration you are poking a hole in the ground and removing the core. This temporarily exposes the root system of your turf. Aerating during extreme temperatures, both hot or cold, will put unwanted stress on your turfs root system and potentially cause your lawn to shock.
The ideal temperature is somewhere in the 70 to 90 degree range. That is not set is stone, you can go a little above or below that, but the 70 to 90 range is a good rule of thumb to go by.
If you miss the ideal temperature range, you can always go with a liquid aeration as they are not temperature sensitive like core aerations are. (I'll talk more about liquid aerations in another video)
The temperatures look great the next couple of weeks, so get out and aerate!
